Reader comment on item: The Palestinian-Israeli War: Where It Came From, and How to End It

lt's absolutely not possible to get the palestinians or arab majority to accept the existence of israel, as long as the earth remains, this is not possible.

Average palestinian and Arabs has been so much indoctrinated with hatred for state of israel. common are photos of kids of 6 years old with kalashinikov rifles hanging on their necks and there hands raised in victory sign, demonstrating victory over israel. whatever thing that happens to a palestinian or an arab, israel is the cause of it even when israel is not in any way related to the problem. when a palestinian or arab dies of headache, israel is the cause, cries of death to israel will fill the air. Becoming a hero or patriot in palestine and arab world starts by physical demonstration of your hatred of state of israel, participating or sponsoring terrorist acts against israel. An arab president is permitted to stay in power as long as he demonstrates his hatred for israel on daily basis.

l am a jew of the IGBO tribe in Nigeria, in 1967-70 Nigerian government declared war on the igbos and over one million igbos were massacred. After the war in 1970, properties belonging to igbo people outside igbo land were consficated by the government of Nigeria, monies in the bank belonging to igbo people were seized too, the igbos were barred from returing to their work in the civil service. Recently, when there was a cantoon of Muhammed in a Danish newpaper, there was widespread massacres of igbo people in the northern part of nigeria.

I agree with you that it is necessary for the majority of Palestinians to accept the existence of Israel before there can be a real peace. But the powers that be cannot allow that to happen because demostration of hatred for israel is the simplest ladder to greatness in palestine and the arab world.
