Russia Post-Putin

Reader comment on item: Saving NATO from Turkey
in response to reader comment: Play by whose rules ?

Submitted by Robert (United States), Dec 13, 2017 at 02:35

I'm thinking of Russia in Generational Terms. Russia is adjusting to its Soviet past.
And it is on the frontier of Islamist Turkey.
Russia is Russian Orthodox (Christian).
It is also ruled by a Capitalist Oligarchy
It has 11 time zones and vast natural resources, and flanked by Imperialist Communist China.

It may be that President Trump will attempt a new detente with Russia.
We are very close to it geographically to the west of Alaska.
So there is a chance we may become allies with Russia - maybe in 50 years.
