Remember Korean War

Reader comment on item: Saving NATO from Turkey

Submitted by Ahmet Unal (Turkey), Oct 20, 2017 at 01:52

Mr Pipes,

I read your article regretfully. You are blaming whole Turkey Nation as an islamic miltancy and this is shame of you.I kindly suggest you to read Korean War and I hope you can see and understand how many young turkish soldiers died for your magnificient west europe and usa security. You should understand that we as Turkey are not in need of Nato but Nato needs us. I wish you a healthy thought.

Daniel Pipes replies:

Half of Turkey is anti-Erdo─čan and the Turkish role 65 years ago in Korea was great.

But neither of these reduce the ugliness of the current Republic of Turkey.

We'll see who needs each other more, Turkey or NATO.
