Additional Terrorist Examples

Reader comment on item: Can Hezbollah and Hamas Be Democratic?

Submitted by Abraham Irwin (United States), Mar 30, 2005 at 10:41

We need not look only to Nazi and Islamic organizations to realize the futility of negotiating with terrorist organizations.

The IRA, which has been negotiating with both the English and Irish governments along with Protestant elements in northern Ireland for several years, refuses to put down its arms. They continue to be involved with terrorist organizations world wide.

At worst there will be a resumption of full blown hostilities. At best it will morph into a thugish gang to disrupt any peaceful resolution.
