Latest article by John Derbyshire, National Review writer known for his palo-con-ish pessimism about the US middle east excursions, is a good companion piece to Mr. Pipes' words of caution.

Basically: things can still go very wrong, but so far things have been going much better than very many intelligent people ever expected.
