Is this a rhetorical question Dr. Pipes. You can find the answer very easy. Just compare the casualties in Afghanistan of all NATO alies. Even the French, who in USA are frequently lampooned as cowards have 88 soldiers killed in action. The same time the mighty turkish army, the best army in NATO after US army have 14 casualties, 2 from traffic accident, and 12 due to helicopter crash. None under enemy fire. This is enough telling.
