Reader comment on item: Is Turkey Leaving the West?

Submitted by Ben (Russia), Feb 27, 2013 at 08:13

Great article of the deep 3D seeing of Turkey in the World.Great photos of the Shanghaing gang with the former Red Army(or KGB) veterans stand at attention;pleading Erdogan with Putin whose face shows how funny this episode is. The imperial pretensions to teach Europeans and to punish Israel has it's roots in the Osman's past. The empire was at the beginning "at Europe" with the eternal "modernization"(like it's rival in this field - Russia).Osman's decline forced it to changes ideologies from imperialism to Turkism and to Islamism in the attempts to survive. All these features of the national past we notice in the Turkey' s politics expressed very emotionally by Erdogan's rethoric.
