Reader comment on item: Jihad or Criminality?

Dr. Pipes asks :

>When will journalists, police, and politicians end their efforts to hide key information that the public needs and deserves? <

My late German friend G√ľnther Barran from Oberbierenbach/Rhineland once told me something that seems to be relevant to the case. Even though I don't pretend it is valid for America, yet it is might be so.

One of my friend's close relatives served as a senior officer in the German police. This relative reported that they had received a circular from the Ministry of the Interior, which set up the following rule. If the police catch a perpetrator who is non-German, especially Turkish and/or Moslem, they are as far as possible not to disclose his identity and religious background to the public. But if the perpetrator is German, especially from the so called "neo-Nazi scene" all the details are to be given to the media about him and his affiliation.

The effect of this trick is that in German media ethnic and Islamic crime doesn't pop up as a major issue while there is constant hysteria and outcry of "xenophobia" when the perpetrator happens to be German and the non-German, especially Turkish or Moslem.

I guess the Americans have adopted the same tactics in their public relations policy. If some white , Christian man had killed all those Moslems suspected of crime , there would be full details of their identities and a witch-hunt for "racists" and "extremists".
