The critical point you leave out when you make these comparisons is this:

Cultural traditions across many cultures (including Hindu, Muslim, Chinese, etc) that harm girls, children, women, anyone, are abhorrent to us in the west. It is not bigotted to acknowledge cultural differences but to reject such practices, especially if they are practiced in western countries under western law (example: female genital mutilation practiced by Somali Muslims in Minnesota, honor killings of daughters and wives practiced in U.S and EU cities).

These types of practices are one conversation topic. They are DRASTICALLY different from the religious practices of devout Muslim jihadists who believe that killing you or I is justified in the name of Islam. Those religious practices are threatening to the community and dangerous to all, including to Muslims of less extreme beliefs.
