I think some of you are missing my point....

Reader comment on item: Jihad or Criminality?
in response to reader comment: The crux of the matter, Miri

the original article was about criminals who had muslim names but it was apparent to me none of these men based on their criminal history cared about Islam....yes ... crimes against women are abhorrent in the west and it should be everywhere..not just to us,Jihadists that kill in the name of religion are in fact misinterpreting and perverting their religion.its evil. The problem is the person wasnt just acknowledging this ..but was trying to point out that his religion is perfect and doesnt have the same history and every other religion is morally inferior.

I live in America. In NY you have neighbors of all religions and not one Muslim that I know has ever justified any of this. In fact I have been more respected as a religious jew by muslims than by any other religious neighbors. They were just as horrified about 911 and what happened in Mumbai and any violence they hear about that is supposedly in the name of Islam. My 1st boss was muslim and gave me time off shabbat and all jewish holidays and respected my religious practices about modestly and keeping kosher. With this background I cant look at all Muslims as jihadists or all criminals that happen to be muslim as somehow doing what they do in the name of religion. People do terrible things .gang bangers of latino descent arent doing what they do either in the name of their religion either and they are mostly catholic. So lets not get lost in the politics and finger pointing.Wrong is wrong..evil is evil and spreading hate and intolerance is also in this category. Its a dangerous road to travel. Too many horrific things have happened to large groups of one ethnicity or another because of this type of behavior.
