Conservatives optimistic, yes—but convincing?

Reader comment on item: What Is the Future of Conservatism in the Wake of the 2012 Election?

Submitted by Will (United Kingdom), Jan 3, 2013 at 06:46

"...conservative institutions possess a convincing and optimistic message."

Convincing to other conservatives, maybe; but I find the blindness, brainwashing and arrogance of liberals unconquerable. Trying to reason with them is a complete waste of time!

So I find it impossible to be optimistic myself; but I'm glad there are some optimists like you around, to keep us somewhat buoyant.
