Reader comment on item: Obama's Failed Middle East Speech

... Obama's speech was not all that bad and in some respects was a gain for Israel. The 1967 border was always thought of as a starting point for the final outcome. Obama just vocalized it, but more importantly said that land swaps are in the offering and he did mention a non-militarized Palestinian state. The fact that Obama spoke of land swaps automatically means that the 1967 border will not be the final border. Of course these talks of renewed negotiations are moot because just the mention of land swaps is anathema to the PA.
