- Might not the same strategy used Islamists (unification against the secularists) thwart your suggested approach? You don't tally up the Islamists' fringe groups. Would they make up a majority?---

I would say Islam played a role and might even be the one pulling the strings that brought Turkey to it's heel.

I am sorry, Dr. Pipes, but I am on the fence on this one.
