I second the point about Bhutto, Jeremy

I agree. I recall seeing a documentary about the Kashmiri Pandits and their expulsion from their homeland by Islamist extremists in Kashmir. At one point footage of Bhutto was shown speaking to a large, militant crowd, calling in highly religious terms for Jihad against the kuffarun sitting on Muslim land in Kashmir. I found it hard to get my head around it, Bhutto has been described in such moderate terms. This picture only adds to the cognitive dissonance for me. Seems Bhutto took on whatever outward image she found helpful at the time.
