I think Prof. Robinson should be given the benefit of the doubt on this. Wouldn't it be wonderful if he found a way to bring Shari'a into the modern world, since this would provide a precedent for other Islamic countries to reform their criminal systems. That could only be a blessing for their citizens and for the world.
