Haifa University's renowned geography demographics expert, Prof. Arnon Sopher, was interviewed on Israeli TV this week. Although he did not go into great detail, he seemed optimistic about the recent trends and success stories of ultra-Orthodox recruitment into the IDF. There appear to be social changes currently underway in some of their communities where it is now an honor for their youth to come home in uniform.
