What was Rabbi Lamm thinking?Reader comment on item: More about the Future of Judaism Submitted by Confee Denshall (United States), Jun 5, 2009 at 15:41 In our rational heart of hearts, I think we all recognize that the demographic and policy shifts Rabbi Lamm pointed out are undeniable. What was suprising to me in this article was the rabbi's candor. It is by no means p-c yet to admit that two of the co-egalitarian "streams" of Judaism have advanced from a trickle of depletion a generation ago to today's wholesale mass abandonment, and it is especially un-p-c for an authentic rabbi of traditional Judaism to pronounce the unutterable, unmistakeable truth. One must compliment the Jerusalem Post's Matthew Wagner, who has a disarming knack for drawing embarrassing quotes out of religious figures and then publicizing them in such a way that they certainly regret granting him an interview. Yet he continues to line 'em up. The surprise here in is in the interview itself, not the revelation (since we were all well aware of those trends anyway).
