Attitude of Jews towards Muslims

Reader comment on item: More about the Orthodox Future of Judaism
in response to reader comment: the questionable future

Submitted by Debanjan Banerjee (India), Jun 6, 2009 at 01:28

Dr. Pipes ,

Do you think that the time has come for the Jews (orthodox or non-orthodox) to take a fresh look at it's attitudes towards Muslims . There are theological similarities between Judaism and Islam , do not you think it is time to stress importance on the similarities between these two faiths rather than it's differences .

Do you believe that it is time to look into some of the past grievances of Muslims towards Jews in a more positive manner towards Muslims like Jewish refusal of the prophethood of Mohammad on the grounds that Mohammad was an Arab thereby he cannot be a prophet .Jews I believe should show some flexibility towards it's policy of accepting the prophethood of Mohammad.
