The real dangerReader comment on item: Harold Koh, Promoter of Shari'a? Submitted by Educated (United States), Apr 2, 2009 at 10:06 Ignorance of Shari'a Law and Harold Koh Comments on the alleged remark is a ridiculous character slandering tactic of the right that skirts the real issues as usual. Americans, especially those on the far right of American politics, lack an understanding of Shari'a Law, transnationalism, human rights in general. When the xenophobic nature of Koh's critics surfaces, the real danger is that opinions guided by ignorance actually endanger our troops, our citizens, our international reputation and our own virtue as a nation. Koh is a magnificent choice and those speaking against him clearly don't understand the reality of our global society, nor do they understand the opportunites for America's role as a leader in such a global society. Fear of that which they do not understand keeps them in a self-depricating bubble where they demonize the righteous.
