Once the people of a free republic are seduced by false "high moral claims and standards" and promises of utopian cradle to grave care, by promoting the productive over the unproductive, and the corrupt over the good -- and for that promise gives up its laws of individual rights and self-rule, it opens itself to any malevolent ideology that benefits those they have allowed to become their "rulers."
