You seem to have overlooked another, dire, possibility

Another possibility, of course, is that Europe will "cleanse" itself - through violence on a massive scale - of its growing Muslim minority.

There are precedents in European history for the implementation of this kind of solution...

I wonder whether France's recent expulsion of two Islamist imams who had lived in that country for many years, and had raised children there, is an early step in that direction.
