Dear Mr. Pipes:
I find your articles interesting and very clear minded.
Please note that - in your comments, you mention that: "..... to appreciate the significance of the Democrats' views requires some background: Although Islamist violence against Americans began in 1979, for 22 years the U.S. government, regardless of which party was in charge, insisted on reducing the Islamist threat to its criminal component."
If you check, I believe you will find that some time after the "Six Day War" in 1967 - several American diplomats were murdered in Khartoum, Africa by Palestinian Arab Terrorists. I believe that to have been the first Islamist violence against Americans. Correct me if I'm wrong!
