The Lessons of September 11Reader comment on item: Democrats Unlearn 9/11 Submitted by Arlinda DeAngelis (United States), Jan 7, 2004 at 11:27 Dr. Pipes does it again. The Democrats in a quest to retain and seek further power have sold out their country, their constitutency and themselves. To paraphrase the bard, "The Whitehouse, the Whitehouse, my country for the Whitehouse." Dr. Pipes takes it one step further and reminds us that to undo the lessons of September 11 under the umbrella of a the "Democratic Party loyal opposition nonsense," we will loose the lessons learned in the fatal attack of September 11, 2001 which will undermine our war effort. The lessons of September 11th, as the Democrats see it, are favorable only to the incumbent president and must be buried or worse seen through the filter of threatening our civil rights and world peace! As Dr. Pipes so brilliantly stated, the party will seek the dispensation of pre-September the 11th while the rest of us must suffer and live in the reality of post September 11th. If America loses the war, the world will, indeed, be a terrible place to live. I am a registered liberal Democrat who will vote, along with majority of my Democratic colleagues, for George Bush. I fear the party will suffer the repercussions of this campaign for the next two decades. So be it.
