AfghanistanReader comment on item: Democrats Unlearn 9/11 Submitted by alan smith (United States), Jan 9, 2004 at 12:34 Afghanistan should be secured by now, but it is not. Instead the current U.S. government decided to invade Iraq, under false pretenses, (WMDs, terrorist links).I can come up with only two reasons why the US invaded Iraq: vengence for Bush's father and overthrow of a tyrant. Just from what I have read and heard, I am certain the Horn of Africa has more terrorist connections and tyrants than Iraq. Yet we are not invading them. Why? Thank you for your article. It is thought-provoking. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
