National Post piece regarding Denmark's immigration problemReader comment on item: A French lesson for Tom Harkin Submitted by John Harman (Canada), Jan 5, 2004 at 14:22 I have been reading your commentary on Islamists and their increasing numbers in European and North American society for several years now. With each passing year I have looked for other voices to address the issues you have raised What has all the earmarks of a serious social problem that should be the concern of our elected officials seems to leave them untroubled. If anything, they seem to be adding to it rather than addressing it.Yours is a voice crying in the wilderness;a phrase which carries echoes of the horrors of our recent past. If it's because of the idiocy called "political correctness" we have reason to worry. People like Tom Harkin talk a good fight but are silent on the real issues involved in peopling our societies with immigrants from hostile cultures.
