Dear Prof Pipes, I pity the ignorance of Sen. Tom Harkin regarding the violent spread of Islam throughout the world. In general, when Muslims are in majority, they will impose an Islamic state making the non-Muslim subjects second class citizens also called Dhimmis. And when they are in a miniority, they will clamour for concessions from the existing govt. which maynot be always possible to accommodate. They simply forget what kind of treatment meted to them by their coreligionists in their countries of origin. I shall never tire of saying that a Muslim is not a free agent and capable of independent thinking unless he/she comes out of the Islamic shell. Those Muslims who say that they are discriminated against should be asked to demand Democracy,Secularism and now much fashionable Multiculturism in Saudi Arabia and Iran. If this is done, the 50 odd Muslim countries will dutifully follow. May I request you to send Mr Harkin a free copy of your celebrated book "In The Path of God-Islam and Political Power" and request him to read to know the blood soaked history of spread of Islam. I condemn the burning of synagogues in France and conclude that even in the third millennium, some Muslims refuse to be civilised.More reprehensible is the role of so called moderate Muslims whose main responsibility is to isolate the terrorist elements and hand over to the Govt. authorities , therby bringing them to justice. I hope and pray, Mr Harkin will take a broader view and come to the right conclusion. Regards, Sincerely, S.C.Panda Prof Daniel Pipes,Director, MEF
