Reader comment on item: Study the Koran?
in response to reader comment: mohammed wrote the koran

Submitted by anonymous (Pakistan), Oct 19, 2007 at 12:50

please have the patience to read through the whole thing. (i had to study for a very important literature test in school but somehow i came across this forum and spent almost two hours writing this)

i reallly admire those non-muslims who are trying to read the Quran after 9/11 even more than lots of muslims because for heavens sake we cannot judge a car by its driver. No one can ever learn about the Islam by looking at muslims. never!!

therefore we need to read the Books to understand religions. Many Muslim scholareshave read the BIBLE or Hindu scriptures. there is nothing wrong with that. my own Islamiat teacher in School has read different scriptures.

and the people in this discussion forum are right

the Quran is very profound and complex. Muslims themselves cannot understand it by simply reading the translation once or twice so they purchase books with anylisis but it still affects you. Muslims scholars still study the Quran again and again deriving new things and scientific miracles. therefore first of all one needs to purchase A book with thorough analysis. there are many books by scholars available for non-muslims or new converts. secondly you need to confirm whether the scholar is learned and moderate. However the best way you can understand the Quran is by reading it yourself.only then will it affect you. only then will you understand. not by following anyone. that is something what scholars themselves say.

secondly if you read the Quran you will find that it is obvious MUHAMMAD P.B.U.H has not written it. There are many articles on the scientific miracles in the Quran that are currently being discovered. second of all MUHAMMAD P.B.U.H was completely illiterate before he was first visited by the angel GIBRAEEL at the age of 40.before that he had never written or read!!! if you read the Quran and study it in terms of a literary work you will find that it is impossible that a man could have written it . and if you read on the scientific miracles in it related to recent advanced scientific discoveries in all branches of science.

"It is impossible that Muhammad, peace be upon him, authored the Qur'an. How could a man, from being illiterate, become the most important author, in terms of literary merits, in the whole of Arabic literature?
How could he then pronounce truths of a scientific nature that no other human-being could possibly have developed at that time, an all this without once making the slightest error in his pronouncement on the subject?" these are the words of a mon muslim dr maurice bucaille.

another point i want to clear is that some non muslims are confused why many muslims call God Allah. well i want to say that for us Allah is a unique name for God. the term god can be played around with however when we say Allah we are talking about God not god. a scholar has conformed that we can say ISHWAR which is mostly used by Hindus or any term which is good enough for God. it all depends on our intentions. as the HOLY PROPHET said "actions are judged by intentions". however ALLAH is the best name there can be for God.

it is a fact that a Quran has had a profound affect on muslims . take the example of cat stevens who suddenly converted.

im not forcing anyone because that is wrong. there is no compulsion in religion. that is common sense. we are all created by God and we should spread our love everywhere. the Quran also gives clear instructions that you can fight to defend yourselves and your religion and obviously being a martyr is something of great respect in all communities but it gives clear instructions that you can only fight and kill only those who are combatents who know that they can die. there is no way you can kill civilians especially women and children no matter of which religion.so GOD will deal with those suicide bombers!!I hate them. i also want to say that Islam stricty does not allow the creation of any sect.in real Islam there is no such thing as sects. it is tragic that muslims have done this and now they are suffering.

also i would like to say that though i am saying that i admire nonmuslims who try to read the Quran i myself have not read it from beginning to end and understood it so i am being hugely hypocritical but i am going to start.

i also want to say that if any non muslim wants to understand Islam they also need to study its history and the life of the Holy prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h and study Hadith(his actions and sayings) with analysis.make sure they are authentic. you can get books.they also need to study the history after the death of the Holy Prophet and how Islam spread and how the muslims at that time explored sciences and maths and sociology and we owe a lot to their study which was based on thier belief of proving the existence of God.

being a young teenage girl barely fifteen all i want to say is that this life is a test. there will always be conflict i dont think there can ever be total peace there never was before and after Islam that is not possible. that is why we need to practice tolerance and cannot be ignorant. this goes for muslims as well as nonmuslims. in todays world the muslims themselves need to understand the Quran more than nonmuslims!! and that God will deal with those people who spread violence ans animosity. whether they are muslims or nonmuslims.i would also like to say that we cannot believe who will go to heaven or hell. you cannot say oh my God you didnt do this so you will go to hell because everyone has there own story and Allah i.s the best judge. this article with all respect is a response to phil greend and goes for muslims and nonmuslims .(muslims more actually...oh i dont know i just dont want to be hypocritical) i better start reading the Quran properly as a book from tommorow. i have studied it in school and listened to sermons and everything and compared to other people in my class know more but i havent read it as a book). The way people view muslims today is also their own fault.

with all respect to any one who reads this byee:-)

i really hope someone actually reads this
