Support For IsraelReader comment on item: Who Supports Israel [- Conservatives or Liberals]? Submitted by Leon A. Davis (United States), Sep 3, 2003 at 09:58 Among those who are considered to be true friends of Israel, Christian Evangelicals should be placed front and center. This support, this affection for the Jewish state, is not prompted by a brand of academic theory or the reflexive debate of the "Outs" in opposition to the "Ins"; this support is a direct commandment of God. Let's not forget that it was the evangelicals who concentrated the resolve of President Bush to do the right thing at the proper time.It goes without saying that Israel has many times the numbers of enemies that it has friends. And many of those "friends" will desert Israel during the troubles that lie ahead. But those spiritual bonds which unite Christian Evangelicals and the promise of Israel will never be broken.
