Dear Daniel,
We must have read different speeches, or perhaps one of us is mistaken?
Bush being under a great amount of pressure from the Saudis, made a very bold statement to replace Arafat, as well as other statements, one of which, was the same song and dance we have heard from the White House since 1967, "TO ABANDON THE TERRITORIES".
Did you expect anything different?? I did not, but at least he made this a two way street, which is a new attitude for the White House, as to the many conditions on this happening. I think we may be judging Bush and Co. a bit to hastily, for if you take a second look at this speech, perhaps we would understand his posture a little bit more. I personally don’t think ANY of the terms that were laid out in this speech will be even considered, and the present Palestinian reply is the loop-hole we all needed to understand his present posture.
I respect your opinions and will wait for your reply, perhaps you can show me my errors. Dave Selwin, Eilat Israel
