As usual your article is true and explicit. In my view the Bush administration, although calling Arafat and his henchmen corrupt and unreliable , has not proposed any solution for a democratic Palestinian state.
Who will have the guts to stand against Arafat for President? Anyone who will propose himself as a candidate, will probably be killed, either as an Israeli "collaborator," by mobs organized by Arafat, or through his terrorist organizations.
Ajl of the Arab states are dictatorships and are not democratic states. No Arab leader wants a democratic Palestinian state, because this situation would be the start of the downfall of their own status. Therefore they will always finance Arafat, who in turn will give the orders for suicide attacks on Israeli civilians, as well as on Israel's armed forces.
The dream of Islamic extremists is to conquer the world and to force everyone to embrace their religion.
The only solution is that all Western nations forgo their financial interests and unite against Islamic extremists. For this they have to use every force they have. They can block their terrorists' financial assets. They can reconquer the lands they took from the Ottoman Empire and give as a present to those nomad sheiks for services rendered and put in place a mandatory regime to educate the new generation to democracy.
People can say such action is against human rights, but I am talking of the future of humanity, not the chosen few.
Daniel Pipes, you with your great knowledge and experience, should continue to fight for your convictions, your debates and articles, will make its point when we shall see that the world has woken up. Your task is to make the world livable for the future generations and I will be following you in every step.
Thank you and best regards Imre
