Reader comment on item: Time to Profile Airline Passengers?
in response to reader comment: To Profile or Not To Profile

"The comment you made in your article that it may require the loss of 100,000 lives before western societies will overrule political correctness and institute passenger profiling in its airports is not a reality I'm willing to accept."

Sir, reality is not something to be accepted or not accepted. If it happens, you and I will have no choice but to accept it, unless we are insane.

"Transfering the inconvenience of passenger profiling to the restriction of carry-on luggage and items is the only logical way in which to foil the plans of terrorists."

Sir, "logic" is not a factor here. There is no "logical way to foil the plans of terrorits." Even if we made every passenger fly nude with no cargo, it is still possible to bring down an aircraft. Gravity is the unavoidable force.
