Reader comment on item: What Riyadh Buys [in Washington]

Submitted by B. Furey (United States), Dec 13, 2002 at 19:57

If this is true, then DISGUSTED seems the appropriate response to what is alleged about happenings in Washington. Why am I not surprised? It's not the title that engages our elected officials, it's the CASH. And what a bleeping shame. Money truly is the root of all evil. Could we have some accountability, please? Could we please have some honest--I know it's out of fashion--legislators for a change. Wouldn't that be refreshing. The Saudis, who don't even share the wealth with their own people, sure know how to buy American politicians. Such is the way of life grasshopper.

May God have mercy on us all.

Note: Reasoned disagreement is indeed welcome. Reasoned legislators, politicians, or whoever, would be nice, too. Goodness, let's not be hostile or otherwise objectionable. BUT IT'S OKAY FOR THE ELITE(?) Washingtonians to sell out their country to a most probable enemy. Someone please give me a barf bag.
