Go somewhere else for oil shopping!

Reader comment on item: What Riyadh Buys [in Washington]

I think the US should save itself from the Saudi snare. US presidents fail to be critical of Saudi Arabia just because of its oil supplies. Saudi Arabians donate billions of dollars every year to organizations that spread the ideology of militant Islam around the world like a viper spreading its poison. Government officials are great in shutting opposition voices, yet they do nothing to shut the terrorist funnel, maybe because members of the Saudi royal family are involved in it.

US, shop somewhere else. Become less dependent on Saudi oil so that your presidents can be critical and cause some change in this barbaric, backward, medieval country. You can get oil from Russia, Brazil, Southern Sudan (thanks folks for helping those people!), post-Saddam Iraq (no Islamic militancy and radicalism there), and you've got your own Alaska (little drilling won't hurt!). So, shop somewhere else.
