The point is this: Blum got his information on American atrocities. not from Communists, or from dictators, or from dissidents, he got his information from the AMERICAN GOVERNMENT. When government documents admit that American agents murdered, tortured, assisinated, bombed and massacred civilians, and that they helped "terrorist organizations" (the Contras among dozens of others) to do the same, wheezing about America's "moral imperative" becomes a little bit silly. Blum is not saying that Bin Laden is a force for good in the world, only that America is a force of "evil" (where evil is "an act which significantly increases the sum of human suffering in the world in exchange for selfish gain). ...
