I remember my parents a"h at breakfast, about 30 years ago, telling me that Mohamed Ali had just donated a new wing to a Jewish hospital in the Bronx. I remember feeling admiration and thanks for Mr. Clay then.

I don't know how the Ali bashing began, and from reading the many events in the article, I wonder if almost everything he wound up "doing" (I use quotes because a punch drunk person doesn't "do" much, other than what he's told to do), was what he was advised to do.
