Thank you, Mr. Pipes, for this evaluation of the Trump phenomenon, which says what needs to be said both concisely and comprehensively. Your level-headed approach reminds me of the opening verses of Rudyard Kipling's "If":
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, ...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And—which is more—you'll be a Man, my son!
It's worth reading the rest of the poem in the context of January 6 in DC, especially the references to lies, knaves and fools.
The two-thirds of Trump voters (poll estimate) who still believe that the election was stolen have lost their heads, you have kept yours, and it could well be that some of those millions will blame you for that.
