A question for Dr. Pipes

Reader comment on item: Obama's Iran Deal Has the Makings of a Catastrophe

Submitted by Titrza (Israel), Jul 15, 2015 at 09:12

"Tehran will receive a "signing bonus" of some US$150 billion."

Somehow, I'm confused. I thought that the money they were getting was their frozen assets. Is it true that they are getting $150 billion in US taxpayers money from the US Treasury? If so, can't that part, at least. of the deal be completely rejected by the House of Representatives, who hold the purse?

Waiting for a reply. Thank you

Daniel Pipes replies:

This figure is a combination of various amounts, including released frozen assets and new commerce.
