A Joint Saudi-Israeli Strike?

Reader comment on item: Thoughts on the P5+1 Negotiations with Tehran

Submitted by Alex (United States), Nov 29, 2014 at 01:45

I was wondering what degree of likelihood Dr. Pipes would assign to the possibility of Saudi Arabia and Israel coordinating an attack on the Iranian nuclear program (opening Saudi airspace to Israeli jets, maybe).

I have heard many claims of such and related cooperation, but I have not seen any evidence and I find the idea highly implausible myself.

Daniel Pipes replies:

I can imagine some sub-rosa cooperation that the Saudis will instantly, viciously, and credibly deny. It will be a one-off sort of thing with no implications for the future.
