Reader comment on item: Surprising Support for Israel, not Hamas

Submitted by Ameer Labeeb Hassan (United States), Jul 14, 2014 at 15:30

The way I look at it, the Qur'an tells a believer: (1) Be not the aggressor, and; (2) To make peace with those who make peace with you. The peace was made in 2012 under the terms of a cease fire. Now Hamas has been the aggressor by firing rockets at Israel yet, they complain about the bombing Israel's Air Force is raining down on Gaza. Beyond this, Islamic Jihad has also been firing rockets. Their leader has now appeared in the media demanding that Egypt intervene with Israel over its bombing campaign on humanitarian grounds yet, the rockets are still firing. I think the Palestinians have to be responsible for their own grief.
