Yes the problem is in the 'West'. It is the Stockholm syndrome writ large.

There is a demographic that will submit and grovel to ingratiate themselves believing this will defend them. Chamberlain writ large.

It may defend in the short term but wont bring deliverance, only subjugation and contempt. You see the seeds every day in the Obama administration's approach. A disguised and spineless capitulation. This not only lends backbone to the strut of the violent, it brings wide spread disrespect down on the practitioner.
