Iran's superfluous centrifuges exist for nuclear weapons

Reader comment on item: Obama Turns on Israel

Submitted by Edwardx (United States), Nov 10, 2013 at 17:56

Israel and its friends have failed to make clear how Iran's nuclear enrichment capabilities greatly exceed its needs for nuclear power plants and research. Is there no physics professor in Israel who can tell how many centrafuges Iran would need to supply 3% enriched uranium for any power plants already online and for those estimated to connect to the grid in the next 5 and 10 years? Can no one assess the amount of 20% enriched uranium needed for a research reactor? All the rest of the enriched uranium and all of the superfluous centrafuges exist only to support Iran's efforts to build nuclear weapons. Who has the numbers? Those numbers will speak louder than complaints.
