Is Netanyahu an Edvard Benes or a Winston Churchill?

Reader comment on item: Obama Turns on Israel

Submitted by Steve Klein (United States), Nov 8, 2013 at 18:47

After the ignominous1938 Munich accords, Churchill reportedly wrote that he had "always believed that (Czech President) Benes was wrong to yield. He should have defended his fortress line. Once fighting had begun in my opinion at the time, France would have moved to his aid in a surge of national passion and England would have rallied to France immediately..."

In the event Israel were to bomb Iran's nascent nuclear sites (thereby defending her fortress line), it is doubtful any country, including the US, would immediately come to Israel's aid; nor does Israel need the US to come to her aid in my view. Israel has and can take care of herself. Will Prime Minister Netanyahu act in Israel's self-defense? Or will he bow to immoral U.S. Administration pressure?
