From 'gut' to 'God'

Reader comment on item: What Is Israel's Next Move In The New Middle East?
in response to reader comment: Appropriateness of this article

The English for 'God' has long been a generic word for the 'Supreme Being' far removed of its tribal origin 'from "gut" in German to identify Nordic deities. The Nordic deities are long extinct and there is no current practices as far as I know. Unlike Allah, the deity of Islam is current and radically opposed to the Bible. It has become a scourge to the world. The very sound of 'Allahu Akbar' invokes terror to the non Muslim world, dare I say even to moderate Muslims. So your argument is unreasonable.
