Reader comment on item: Support Assad

All arguments I hear avoid the core of the question. Is the the West willing fight an islamist regime to the end for the only reason that it is islamist?

If and when the West is determined, I see another course of action. Deal with Assad and the Islamists in sequence. Wait until the Islamists finish Assad. Then go in and finish the Islamists. Syria today, Iran tomorrow, and on. The exit strategy? Let me call it victory for a change.
