Dr. Pipes

I'm sure that you are aware that Morsi visited Iran and Ahmadinejad also visited Cairo and Morsi announced that there will be an agreement between Iran and Egypt for what he called "religious tourism" as he believed that the Shi3a in Iran would like to visit Shi3a shrines and mosques in Cairo and that Iranians visiting Egypt would solve the serious decline in Egyptian tourism but again he is clueless

The idea of Shi3a and in this case poor shi3a (most of the Shi3a that visit religious shrines are usually poor Iranians) and over running the opulent toursit hotels in Cairo was too much for even members of el-ikhwan to accept so everyone was after poor clueless Morsi

However, it seems that travel agents in Iran and Iranians that want to visit Egypt have no desire to visit these religious shrines but they want to see and you guessed it the great Egyptians treasures of Upper Egypt

http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/3/12/67378/Business/Economy/Charter-flights-between-Egypt-and-Iran-expected-so.aspx

So it seems that Egypt will not be the host of poor Shi3a and those that can afford these charter flights would rather visit the great and pagan monuments of Upper Egypt than visit another mosque in Cairo! And it seems that Iranians would rather visit the sites of the great and spectacular pre-Islamic past of Egypt and this is indeed because they have the same glorious pre-Islamic past

Morsi? he is clueless
