Reader comment on item: Gaza's Not the Key, Philadelphi Is
in response to reader comment: cold occupation

Why does Israel not use drones to survey the Philadelphi Corridor? Wouldn't that be a more cost-effective measure?
Drones could be killer drones or just spy drones that could alert the IDF to a major smuggling operation.

Where is Hamas getting all the cement and other building materials to re-build the tunnels? I would have thought that Israel had cut off those shipments.

There is another way of stopping this conflict, as has already been suggested, and that is re-taking Gaza. It's a risky move and full of dire consequences especially world opinion but I like the idea. For those Palestinians who do not want to live under Israeli laws they could just move back to Trans-Jordan or Iraq, Egypt, Sudan or Syria,... from whence they came.

It is such a touchy situation and I can only see the whole crisis ending up in total holy war eventually. Islam is the problem. It's not so much land, as ideology.
