The real challenge for Islam

Reader comment on item: Ankara at War
in response to reader comment: Missed Points

Submitted by Govind (United States), Oct 27, 2012 at 01:16

Dear Dr Pipes,

Amin Riaz responded to my comment on Turkey turning Islamist. Amin Riaz did not understand my point. The point I was making was that as a distant observer I fail to understand why on the one hand there is so much talk of Islamic brotherhood and on the other so many fratricidal wars exist in the Islamic world (East vs West Pakistan, Iran vs Iraq, every one against everyone else in Afghanistan, Middle aged soldiers against 14-year old girls in Pakistan, and, now, Syria against Turkey).

The true challenge for Islam is Muslims' killing of other Muslims. Perhaps, when this problem is fixed, Muslims' mistreatment of non-Muslims will also come to an end.
