Believing that assured annihilation could serve as a deterrent ignores a fundamental truth. Only rational people respond rationally. The same belief system that directed planes into the trade center controls Iran. They will use weapons to destroy Israel for the same reason Otta used to justify his own death (and 3000 others). Israel unfortunately has little choice. More unfortunate however is the clear fact that the current preident could care less.
