Reader comment on item: Panetta Predicts an Israeli Strike on Iran

It is very unclear what all this talk means. Espionage,diplomacy and military are an artful trio. Panettas statement may simply mean that military strikes by Israel or America have now been upgraded as equal members of the band. Dr Pipes is right. Sanctions wont work. Thats civilized stuff for non crazies.Either will Russia and Chinas UN security council. Countries have militaries. Israel does and America does. If the pursuit of and soon to be Iranian nuclear weapons arent a good enough reason to use a military, why have a military at all.
