Reader comment on item: There Are No Moderates: Dealing with Fundamentalist Islam
in response to reader comment: Moderate Islam - I don't think so ...

Here is my take on this moderate issue. The so-called moderates often do not want to make a point of putting distance between the radicalism and the fundamentalists and prefer often to sit back and side with their 'breathren' so to speak rather than claim their places as true Americans. Even when they stand as Americans it is often a disgruntled 'let's change what it means to be an American' and that's playing along with their fundamentalist brothers who use them and in turn are used by the moderates to take pot shots at Americans who they claim are so worldly when in fact the so called moderates use our 'worldliness' technology of innumerable benefits and better lifestyle to their benefit except when they want to be backwards wearing obvious confrontational clothing and attitudes. I am originally from France but I am an American first and that is how it should be for any immigrant. I'm also tired of all the cliche excuses for separatism dredging up the past historical inequalities. Anyone can find something wrong with how their ancestors were treated at some point or another but that does nothing but tear down the present if we do not move forward. Though we have many treasonous politicians if truth be told that does not make it right to go along with anarchy. A person should be judged by their actions so let the moderates act more like Americans and not just talk the talk.
